Cambo House Wedding Film: Amy & Mark
This year’s wedding season has been incredible. With over 40 weddings captured across Scotland and the UK, it’s easily been my busiest season yet - and I still can’t quite believe some of the amazing places I’ve worked and the incredible people I’ve met along the way.
Amy & Mark are two such people. From the moment Mark and I started emailing I knew their big day at Cambo House, located on the coast of Fife, would be one to remember.
Hidden within woodland on Scotland’s sunniest coast, Cambo House brands itself as a family home, built to party. Boasting 18 bedrooms sleeping up to 45 guests, lush lawns, magical woodland walks, golden beaches and plenty of room for a caleigh, Amy & Mark chose the perfect spot to say ‘I do’, and I feel super honoured to have been asked to capture their big day.
Working with my Black Magic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, the day started with bridal prep, before moving upstairs to the billiards room to capture Mark and his groomsmen sharing a wee dram. From here, the shoot moved outside for the ceremony, before moving back into the house for the speeches and caleigh.
To capture those all important establishing shots, and to showcase the gorgeous coast of Fife in all its glory, I used the Mavic Air 2S drone. Taking flight was easy enough thanks to the unrestricted airspace (and the lovely team at Cambo who’s permission I required for the flight), and the views once airborne didn’t disappoint.
The drone also made an appearance during the couple’s portrait session, which was expertly managed by Chris Scott, with the resulting frames being used as the video’s thumbnail - as seen below.
As always, capturing clear, crisp audio was a key deliverable - which helped me cut together the speeches, readings and ceremony. This was achieved using a combination of professional recorders and lav-mics, all of which were discreetly placed throughout the shoot.
In the final cut, I wanted to really showcase the couple’s first dance and caleigh. The fast pace that features in this section of the film works really well with the song choice (Split the Willow) and I can’t thank all of Amy & Mark’s amazing guests for getting their groove on late into the night.
As always, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who made this a shoot to remember - including all the staff at Cambo House, Chris Scott Photography and of course, the new Mr & Mrs Reid.
Looking ahead to 2022 and 2023, I’d love to return to Cambo House, so if you’re getting hitched on Scotland’s sunshine coast and need a videographer to capture your special day, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
