Wedding documentaries: everything you need to know
As demand for wedding videography continues to rise, we’re always looking for new ways of pushing the envelope.
Over the past three years alone we’ve introduced audio-recording, aerial videography and 4K video capture to our offering, and looking ahead to 2021 and beyond, we’re super excited to introduce Documentary Weddings to our existing suite of packages.
These videos are achieved by capturing a short interview, shot in the months preceding the wedding, as well as b-roll of the bride and groom engaging in an activity that’s close to their heart.
For two of our more recent clients, Jess and Chris, this meant filming the couple as they took their beautiful black labs for a walk.
This footage was then used to create a mini-teaser, which the couple could share on their Instagram channels in the build-up to their big day. As for the rest of the interview footage, this was delivered in-full via USB, and edited into the full wedding film - which the Studio Lester team filmed in September of this year.
We loved working on this shoot, not least because Jess and Chris were so easy to work with throughout. What’s more, by combining the pre-shot footage with everything else in our arsenal (drone footage, audio capture etc.) we were able to deliver our first wedding documentary - a film we’re now delighted to share.
What’s included in a documentary wedding shoot?
A mini engagement shoot - capturing b-roll footage and a full interview
One teaser video to be delivered before your big day
Full wedding coverage (12hrs minimum)
Audio capture throughout the speeches and ceremony
Full, edited footage of the speeches and ceremony
A USB album
Fifteen minute highlight film
Aerial videography (filmed using one of our drones)
How much does your documentary package cost?
As a standalone package, documentary wedding shoots are priced at £1,850. Photography can be added for a further £500 - covering the cost required to book a second professional for your big day.
Can I upgrade my existing booking to a documentary package?
Yes, of course. For clients that have already booked either a combination package or a standalone videography offer for 2021 and beyond, upgrading to a documentary wedding can be done for as little as £250*.
This offer is only available until New Year’s Eve 2020, so be sure to take advantage before it’s too late!
